Harindu Gunawardena is a Sri Lankan-born film producer and the founder of Rogue Element Limited, established in 2023. Originally based in Sri Lanka, the company has since expanded its operations to the United Kingdom.

Born in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Gunawardena is the son of Harith Gunawardena, a distinguished media personality and journalist, and Nishani Athukorala, a seasoned government official. He is part of a creative lineage, representing the third generation of notable talents in his family, including esteemed actress Trelicia Gunawardena and Professor A.J. Gunawardena, a revered writer and journalist who collaborated with the pioneering director Lester James Peries on several iconic films that shaped early Sri Lankan cinema.

Gunawardena began his career in advertising, producing TV commercials before transitioning to film. He earned a Master of Arts in Producing Film and Television from Royal Holloway, University of London. His relocation to the UK was facilitated by mentorship from industry luminaries such as Academy-nominated producer David M. Thompson, and BBC drama commissioner Mike Dormer.

Gunawardena now resides in London, UK.
