Matt was born in Connecticut and has lived in New Hampshire and eastern North Carolina, where he resides with his family. He is the son of Henry and Elizabeth Higgins.

After studying English and graduating from Keene State College, Matt spent many years working in print and digital media. He has written for small town newspapers to international magazines.

Matt has written numerous feature length screenplays in a variety of genres.
