Daniel Best Arias, born 1990 in Bogotá, Colombia, is a director, writer, freelance cinematographer and music composer based in Zurich, Switzerland. As a son of diplomats who has traveled many countries, he was not only able to achieve fluency in five languages, but also gained first-hand insight into diverse social classes, whose impressions would inspire him throughout his films. Over the course of his teenage years Daniel visited several schools in Austria's capital Vienna, where he studied the basics of visual arts and music. Graduating from high school with a degree in audio post-production, he also co-founded the band "The Horror Show" with musician Fabian Hammer, with whom he composes the soundtrack for his films. Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film degree at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2020, with a focus on Creative Producing.
