Laura Azambuja is a filmmaker who lives in Florianópolis, Brazil. Laura works in her free time as a producer, assistant director and editor in local independent film productions. Laura sometimes gets ideas for characters in her films from her crazy lucid dreams and people in her life. She constantly wakes up still mixing the dream with reality, not knowing what is what. Laura has a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual. She is a master's student in Language Sciences and should graduate in the middle of 2025. Azambuja made the short horror film Sicômoro, in 2023, which was awarded as 3rd best film at the 48 Hour Film Project Floripa and awarded as Best Photography. Laura enjoyed her theater classes in high school and has been hooked ever since, during the pandemic she started teaching at the school she studied at, succeeding her master and theater teacher. Her dream is to coordinate a large film festival and she is currently building her work as a producer.
