Colton Johnson spent his early childhood in San Antonio, TX - raised by a mom who was an officer in the Air Force and a dad who worked at the Veterans Health Administration. Colton had strict parents who gave him a strong work ethic and the need to strive for perfection. He pushed himself in high school to pursue a college degree in STEM. Unfortunately, that train got derailed while attending Pensacola High School in Florida. He needed to fill a time slot in his class schedule, and the only available options were Home Ec or Theatre. He chose the latter, which he jokes changed his future from "culinary doctor" to "starving artist."

Before graduating from Mead Senior High School in Spokane, WA, Colton played a leading role in several school productions, was a founding member and President of Drama Club (Troupe #2468), and received the Most Improved award on his school Tennis team.

After graduating, Colton couldn't commit himself to the logical STEM path he was originally pursuing. He worked odd jobs for a few years, confused about which path to take. His logic told him to get a practical degree, but his emotional side told him to pursue acting. With insight from his dad, he ultimately chose to study filmmaking.

Colton graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Spring 2022 with a BA in Cinema and a BS in Mass Communications. During college, he co-founded two student film organizations and worked as the Head of Production for both. The more successful club is still functioning today. He was awarded a school grant for a short film called Busker Jones. It premiered at the 2023 Richmond International Film Festival.

A few months after graduating, Colton acted as a lead in his friend's feature film The Trip, which premiered in February 2024. (As of July 2024, the film is circulating film festivals.) While filming The Trip, Colton received his first professional acting job as a "Frat Bro" in a Southern Comfort commercial.

Since starting his professional media career, Colton has worked in film, television, advertising, sports broadcasting, and news. As of July 2024, he works full-time as a Production Coordinator in an Atlanta ad agency. He's always interested in other opportunities and looks forward to acting and working in narratives again soon.
