Captain Jones

An independent film director and Tony Award-nominated producer, Craig Saavedra is co-founder of Starry Night Entertainment, a Los Angeles and New York based film, theatre and television production company.

Saavedra has directed the feature films "Sherman's Way" (James LeGros, Enrico Colantoni, Michael Shulman and Donna Murphy) and "Rhapsody In Bloom" (Penelope Ann Miller and Ron Silver).

Starry Night has produced and/or been a major investor on Broadway and West End productions such as Jez Butterworth's "The Ferryman," "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" (Liev Schreiber, Janet McTeer), "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (Neil Patrick Harris, Darren Criss), "Henry V" (Jude Law), "Peter and Alice" (Judi Dench), "The Elephant Man" (Bradley Cooper), "The Cripple of Inishmaan" (Daniel Radcliffe), "After Midnight" and Craig Wright's "Mistakes Were Made" (Michael Shannon) at Off-Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre (Time Magazine's Top Ten Plays of the Year). Saavedra also produced the New York premiere of J.T. Rogers's "White People" at the Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2 Theater.

Recent television projects include the unscripted series "Tibor to the Rescue."

Prior to Starry Night, Saavedra served as President of Becker Entertainment, Australia's leading independent film and television production, distribution and exhibition company, with offices in Los Angeles and Sydney. During his tenure, Saavedra produced and/or supervised the production/development of numerous film and television projects including "At First Sight" (Jonathan Silverman), "The Family Bloom," "Closer and Closer" (Kim Delaney), "Only You" (Helen Hunt), "Gross Misconduct" (Jimmy Smits and Naomi Watts), "December Boys" (Daniel Radcliffe) "The Real MacCaw" (Jason Robards).

Saavedra lives in Los Angeles and New York with his husband, cinematographer Joaquin Sedillo.
