István Poór has three masters degrees. (Economic University Budapest , NYU Graduated Film School , AFI as a director, and received a degree in music.) He has made fifteen short feature films and eight feature films . 'Living on Borrowed Time ' was his first feature film with twice Oscar winner Rod Steiger and with twice Oscar nominated John Hurt (1984, Elephant Man etc..). Cosmic Symphony, his second feature received best feature film award in 2023 in New York. Eucharistia was chosen best feature film, best directing, best script , best actor at the International Christian Film Festival New York 2023 . The Witch of Funtinel received best script in Los Angeles in 2016 and won best feature in 2024 in Budapest by an international jury. His DVD called ' Traditional Hungarian Folk Music for tarogato ' was a success among American jazz musicians. (Jan Garbarek , Charles Lloyd, Pharoah Sanders etc...learning the instrument ). Other feature films he has made are; 'Julia the beautiful', 'Màrton Àron, bishop of Transylvania'. In 2022 Orlando , Florida, Eucharistia won best script price. He is working on a new picture which is about a prince of Transylvania. He spent ten years at the Lee Strasberg Actors Studio in Los Angeles and spent nine years teaching acting (National Theatre in Budapest. ).
