Brian O'Hare is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and former US Marine Corps officer. His career began in a Baltimore bar, where legendary director John Waters cast him as a convict in his film 'Cry Baby'. He's an award-winning writer/producer living in Los Angeles. Most recently, National Book Award winner Phil Klay awarded Brian Syracuse University Press' Veterans Writing Award for 'Surrender'-his book of short stories published by the Press in November 2022. He was named a Writing Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and served as Visiting Writer at CUNY/Kingsborough in Brooklyn. Along with producing partner Azadeh Navai, Brian produced the award-winning feature documentary 'Logan's Syndrome', released in 2017 by Cinedigm. Brian also produced Navai's narrative debut, 'Rizoo', which will have its world premiere at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival. Their film, 'The Walnut Sandwich' - begins production in Los Angeles in December 2023 and are in pre-production on the narrative feature 'Sheepish'. He's also producing 'Cannon Shot', a feature documentary on the world's largest croquet match between the US Naval Academy and across the street rivals, St. John's College. As well, Brian is a former Editor-at-Large for 'MovieMaker' magazine, and has served as juror at the New Orleans Film Festival and the Majorca Film Festival, was a visiting artist at the Rhode Island School of Design and has spoken on writing and independent producing at Ithaca College, Quinnipiac University, Nicholls College and Syracuse University.
