Jhene Erwin is a Toronto based filmmaker and actor whose award-winning work has screened at festivals internationally including, the The Toronto International Film Festival, the Boston Film Festival, PBS Online Film Festival, Seattle's PBS affiliate KCTS and INPUT El Salvador. She was one of four women internationally chosen to contribute to the the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation website as part of their stillbirth series. Her short film The House I Keep received an Audience Choice award from the Hollyshorts Film Festival in Los Angeles. She is a recipient of a grant from Canada Council for the Arts for her feature-length documentary, The Undeserving Widow. She received an Artist Trust grant from the City of Seattle for her filmmaking as well as an equipment grant from Northwest Film Forum.

Since earning a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University, Erwin has played both staring and supporting roles in various films and television series including, Five Days at Memorial, Cabinet of Curiosities, The Comey Rule, Tallboyz, Jett, The House I Keep, Jupiter's Legacy and Psych. Jhene's lead performance in the feature film The Fishing Trip received glowing reviews in Variety, Cineaction Magazine and the Toronto Star. She was also a regular, playing Bess Marvin, on the New Line television series Nancy Drew.

Jhene is a published poet (Onyx Anthology of Spoken Word) whose writing landed her a demo deal with EMI London.
