Writer Steve Barancik was born on September 23, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. Barancik following graduation from college worked in telemarketing, which in turn inspired him to write his wickedly clever script for the acclaimed noir thriller The Last Seduction (1994). In the wake of this stellar screenwriting debut, Steve alas only worked as a writer on a few more movies before going on to become a children's book author and a teacher at the Southside Community School in Tucson, Arizona as well as the founder of and regular performer in the comedy troupe Monolog Cabin at Club Congress in Tucson, Arizona.
