Ignacio Agusti Peypoch (Lliçà de Vall 1913 - Barcelona 1974) was a Spanish writer and journalist. He graduated in law in Barcelona, was a member of the Regionalist League (a Catalan Nationalist Party) in his youth, and began writing in Catalan until 1936. But after the Spanish Civil War he only wrote in Castilian. He was director of the weekly magazine 'Destino' and, just for a few months, of 'Tele / eXprés'. He was a regular contributor to the magazine 'Triunfo' in the '60s. Of all his work highlights is the literary saga 'The ash was tree' and consists of the following titles: 'Mariona Rebull' (1943), 'The widower Rius' (1944), 'Desiderio' (1957), 'Nineteen of July' (1965) and 'Civil War' (1972). Besides, Agustí published two more novels: 'A Century of Catalonia' (1940) and 'The furrows' (1942).
